Call for Papers
Textile: Special issue: DUST

Textile: The Journal of Cloth and Culture is proposing a special issue on “Dust,” edited by Pennina Barnett, (Goldsmiths, University of London), Catherine Harper, (University of Brighton,) and Deborah Valoma (California College of the Arts, San Francisco). The topic can be interpreted literally, metaphorically, or conceptually to include, among others, notions of invisibility, disintegration, insignificance, and dispersal. Proposals from researchers across disciplines are welcome. This issue will be published in 2009. The early announcement is intended to give writers plenty of time to work up proposals and to develop papers of up to 5,000 words.

If you would like to submit a paper, please submit an abstract of up to 500 words (with images if appropriate) to the DUST special issue editors listed below. Please feel free to contact us for further information.

Pennina Barnett p.barnett@gold.ac.uk;
Catherine Harper Catherine.Harper@brighton.ac.uk
Deborah Valoma dvaloma@cca.edu
